Apple’s updated Developer Program License Agreement (EU terms) is live (Aug 18, 2026)

Apple published a short but important notice: Attachment 14 has been added to the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, defining the updated terms for apps in the European Union.

Treat this as an operational deadline, not legal trivia: if you ship in the EU, payments and distribution choices are becoming a product and support decision you need to own before October.

What Apple is saying (plain English)

• Apple has updated the Developer Program License Agreement to include EU-specific terms (alternative distribution, alternative payments, and business terms).
• The updated EU terms take effect October 1, 2026.
• Apple is asking developers to review the changes and accept the updated terms in their developer account.

Why this matters (for growth teams)

Even if your marketing team is not “doing policy”, the practical blast radius is big:

• Checkout UX and trust: if you add alternative payments (or link-out), you will need conversion-safe UX and clean receipts.
• Measurement: payment flows and distribution paths create attribution and reporting forks.
• Support load: a second payments path almost always means new refund, subscription, and access edge cases.

Tiny win (30 minutes)

Write a one-page EU memo that answers three questions:

1. Are we considering alternative payments, and if yes, what is our “no-surprises” user flow?
2. Are we considering alternative distribution, and if yes, who owns update cadence and comms?
3. What are the two support macros we will need on day one (refunds and access issues)?
